Remember wearing a suit and tie to work? Just a few years ago (OK, it was 1961) I was the hard-driving businessman you see in the photo. But in 1980, I discovered Anna Maria Island and, like many folks, was captivated by the beautiful beaches, perfect weather and relaxed island lifestyle.

I bought my first Anna Maria Island home in 1983. Since then, I’ve loved sharing this tropical paradise with many friends, and in 1994 my wife “Pa” came here from Thailand to join me. We developed a boutique 17-unit resort at the island’s north end in Anna Maria which we sold in 2005. Since then, we’ve built and remodeled 5 island homes ranging in price from $650,000 to $2,200,000. And for fun, we  maintain the Tropical Garden home rental so friends from around the world can visit Anna Maria Island on a weekly basis.

Over the years, we built a portfolio of carefully selected island properties. In 2008, we lost our home and possessions to a fire. We were grateful to have escaped unharmed but our finances are still recovering. For that reason, we’re offering three properties from our carefully acquired real estate portfolio for sale (see below).

This is a great time to buy island property. We’ve priced ours at or below market value, based on comparable sales. But after six bad years the real estate tide is turning fast in 2012.
