Remember wearing a suit and tie to work? Just a few years ago (OK, it was 1961) I was the hard-driving businessman you see in the photo. But in 1980, I discovered Anna Maria Island and, like many folks, was captivated by the beautiful beaches, perfect weather and relaxed island lifestyle.
I bought my first Anna Maria Island home in 1983. Since then, I’ve loved sharing this tropical paradise with many friends, including my wife “Pa” who came here from Thailand in 1994. From 2001-2005 we developed a boutique 17-unit resort at the island’s north end in Anna Maria. Since then, we’ve built and remodeled 5 island homes ranging in price from $650,000 to $2,200,000. Of course we also maintain the Tropical Garden Home for weekly rentals.
Over the years, we built a portfolio of carefully selected island properties. In 2008, we had a crisis when we lost our home and possessions to a fire. We were grateful to have escaped unharmed but our finances are still recovering. For that reason, we’ve decided to sell one or two properties to get back on our feet.
